    General

This component is an expansion of Component 18 (Splitter with ratio specification) to three outlets. Here Pin 2 is regarded as the main outlet and Pins 3 and 4 as branchings.

For each of the two branchings, you can choose whether the branching mass flow is to be specified from outside or calculated via a specification value relative to the inlet mass flow.

Pressure and enthalpy are equated with the input values at all outlets.

Like Component 18, also Component 140 can be used for shafts and electric lines in order to model a distribution of mechanical energy and electrical output respectively.

To keep the component clearly arranged, not all possibilities to combine specifications that would result from a combination of two Components 18 have been implemented. If a case is required that cannot be covered with Component 140, two Components 18 will have to be applied.

    User Input Values

    FMODE

    Flag for local calculation mode

    Expression

    = 0: GLOBAL

    = 1: Off-design mode

    = -1: Local Design mode

    FM3

    Specification first branch

Like in Parent Profile (Sub profile option only)

    Expression

    = 0: Flow 3 calculated from specification value M3M1
    = 1: Flow 3 given from outside

    M3M1

    First branch flow relative M1

    FM4

    Specification second branch

Like in Parent Profile (Sub profile option only)

    Expression

    = 0: Flow 4 calculated from specification value M4M1
    = 1: Flow 4 given from outside

    M4M1

    Second branch flow relative M1

Generally, all inputs that are visible are required. But, often default values are provided.

For more information on colour of the input fields and their descriptions see Edit Component\Specification values

For more information on design vs. off-design and nominal values see General\Accept Nominal values
