    Generator

Depending upon the model, a choice must be made between 3 different output reports.

Several gas and steam turbines can be modelled in this case in the model.

The following model variants are handled:

    • Mixing via mechanical shaft (single-shaft plant)
    • Gas turbine as GT-Macro, without mechanical shaft
    • Gas turbine as model including mechanical shaft
    • Gas turbine or steam turbine calculated externally (dummy generator)

Mixing via mechanical shaft (single-shaft plant)

In the case of single-shaft plants, the gas as well as the steam turbines are present on a common mechanical shaft, which gives the sum total of mechanical powers to a generator.

For making the model in EBSILON®Professional this means that the mechanical powers of the gas turbine and the mechanical power at the outlet of the gas turbine must be added and provided as the total power of the mechanical shaft at the inlet of the generator. This is done via the mixer (component 37).

For this protocol, all mechanical shafts, whose mechanical power is to be added to the mechanical inlet power of the generator, must be selected. Alternatively, the shaft or the pastille on the shaft can be selected.

    Comments on the protocol:

    • Eta (n) is the efficiency of the generator (nominal)
    • Q (n) is the mechanical power at the inlet of the generator (nominal)
    • cos phi is the cos-phi of the generator (nominal)
    • Eta is the calculated efficiency of the generator
    • P-Wave is the calculated mechanical power at the inlet of the generator
    • P-el is the electrical power at the outlet of the generator
    • Sum: P-el is the total of all electrical powers

Gas Turbine as GT-Macro, without mechanical shaft

If the model contains gas turbines with their own generators and these are modelled as GT-Macro (component 40, or component 57), then the mechanical power of the individual gas turbines cannot be specified, because these are not available as calculated values. Only the electrical power can be specified in this case.

For this protocol, all the GT-Macros as well as the generators of the steam turbines must be selected. In the protocol, first the GT-Macros and then the generators of the steam turbines are printed.

Gas Turbine as Model including mechanical shaft

If the model contains gas turbines modelled from individual components, then all the mechanical and electrical values are available.

For this report, all the generators of the gas turbines as well as of the steam turbines must be selected.

Gas Turbine or Steam Turbine calculated externally (Dummy-Generator)

Even when the electrical power of the gas turbine and/or of the steam turbine is not calculated in this model, the values can still be documented.

The following structure must be used for this:

A generator is inserted, at whose outlet an electrical line is attached. The power is specified on this line via a pastille. However, the generator component must be set to "do not calculate".

In the protocol, the dummy generator is treated like a normal generator.

    Generate sub-report

    • Select all generator components of the model.
    • Call the dialog box "Modifying Sub-Reports".
    • Select the sub-report "Generator" and import it in the list of the sub-reports.
    • Enter an extra title, if needed.
    • Select the sub-report for the generator and then click the button "Modify" or else double-click the sub-report for the generator.
The dialog box "Edit Sub-Report" opens.
    • A click on the button "Insert (Sel.)" inserts the components selected earlier in the cycle in the list of the components of the sub-report.
    • Close the dialog box for the list of the components through the button "Close".
    • Close the dialog box for modifying the sub-protocol through the button "Close".

The components selected earlier are inserted in the sub-report in the order, in which they were selected.
