Working with EBSILON^®Professional

Welcome to EBSILON^®Professional !

Assuming that you have installed the program successfully, this chapter will give you an insight into working with  EBSILON^®Professional.

Before you can start working with EBSILON^®Professional, you must connect the dongle to the LPT1-port of your computer if it is a parallel-port-dongle, or to a free USB-port of your computer (unless your computer is in a network where a network dongle with a free license is available).

You can start EBSILON^®Professionaleither by clicking on the START button on your Windows screen under "Programs", "Ebsilon Professional" or by double-clicking "ebs2000.exe" in the Windows explorer (present by default in the folder C:\Program Files\Steag\Ebsilon Professional ...).

The following start screen is now displayed:

The arrangement of the tool bars can be customized by the user according to his needs, so that the appearance of the screen might be different. The screen elements are described in the chapter "The Graphical Editor".

In case Ebsilon does not start in the language you desire, you can set the language specific to your country in the menu bar under "Extras" à "General Settings" on the page "View and Print" in the field "Country-specific".

You can now go to the Tutorial to learn how to construct a circuit.

In order to start with a sample circuit, use the EbsAssistant or the command "Examples" under the menu "?".
