    General information

EBSILON®Professional is based on the Microsoft Foundation Class Library (MFC) and supports the well-known standard features of Windows programs. It is designed in a document/view architecture like MS Office programs.

A document (model, cycle) is the complete description of one cycle. It is stored in a binary file with the extension ".ebs".

If you want to move an EBSILON®Professional model from one place to another (e.g. sending it through email), you just have to transfer this ".ebs"-file.

The ".ebx" format is a combination of EBSILON®Professional and the Microsoft Excel format. This combined file stores the data of an EBSILON®Professional drawing and the properties of the corresponding Excel sheet in one file. To create an ebx file, use the command "FileàExportàebx-Format" from the menu bar. To load an ebx-file, use the standard Open dialog and set file type to ".ebx" in this dialog.

There are also template files (file name extension “.ebt”).

Further information can be found here.

Under "View"à"Application Look" it is possible to select various variants for the display of the Ebsilon windows.

    Instructions for importing old models

All models created with "Ebsilon 2000"- and "EBSILON®Professional"-releases can be opened with the current version of EBSILON®Professional. While saving, however, they are saved in the new format, so that opening them with a earlier release is not possible any more.

Cycles created under the DOS-Version of Ebsilon or with the first Windows NT-version cannot be imported directly by EBSILON®Professional but else must be imported with Ebsilon 2000 (version 1.0 or 2.0) in an intermediate step and then saved in the Ebsilon 2000-format. Thereafter, they can be opened in EBSILON®Professional.

    Ebsilon-List-Control

In suitable places, the sort column header allows sorting by absolute value: repeatedly clicking the column header switches between sorting by value and sorting by absolute value.
